Which physical edition are you looking for?

Another Eden Begins has Japanese physical editions for Switch and Switch 2, while Aksys Games has announced Western physical editions for 2027. A Japanese box, a Western box, and a Nintendo eShop download are different purchases. Start with the region and exact edition, not just a retailer's product image.

The Japanese official product page lists the boxed versions. Aksys identifies its separate release as physical-only in the description of its official announcement trailer. Information below was checked on September 16, 2026; a year on an announcement is not confirmation of retail stock.

Standard box, collector's box, or retailer bundle?

Japan's standard physical list prices are 4,980 JPY for Switch and 5,480 JPY for Switch 2 Edition, including Japanese tax. Collector's packages cost more because their contents differ. A store-specific bonus is a third distinction: it can change what comes with your order without changing the game's platform.

The official Japanese retailer-bonus directory provides examples:

  • Amazon Japan: a 12-design postcard set is listed, with a separate goods-set offer also shown.
  • AmiAmi: an acrylic keychain is listed.
  • Gamers: the acrylic-figure offer is marked for the Collection Box.

The directory says quantities are limited and asks buyers to confirm bonus availability with the retailer. Do not assume every seller includes the same extra, or that a bonus shown in a promotional image is included in a secondhand listing.

For an order comparison, record the exact platform, edition, seller, bonus designation, shipping destination, and delivered total. That is more reliable than comparing two prices attached to similar box art.

Check language and storage details before importing

Do not infer a Japanese cartridge's language support from the English-language digital store. Ask the retailer for the language listing of that exact Japanese SKU, preferably with a product-page reference or packaging photo. An English title on the front cover is not a language specification.

Also establish what the package contains and what installation requires. The sources used here confirm physical editions, but do not establish the cartridge or game-key-card configuration and download requirements for every regional SKU. If playing from a card without an initial download matters to you, get that detail confirmed before ordering rather than treating “physical” as the answer.

These are separate checks:

Detail to verifyWhy it changes the purchase
Switch or Switch 2 EditionThe edition must match the hardware experience you intend to buy
Text and audio languagesPackaging language and in-game language are not the same field
Card type and required downloadA box alone does not answer storage or internet requirements
Included versus separately sold extrasAvoid paying for a bundle while expecting an unlisted bonus
Shipping, returns, and seller conditionA Japanese list price is not an imported order's final cost

Early-purchase serial codes are not guaranteed in every box

The Japanese site's physical-copy instructions say a serial-code leaflet is enclosed when the package back indicates the early-purchase serial-code inclusion. Those rewards are for Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, not bonus currency or DLC inside Begins.

For a used copy, an included leaflet does not establish that its codes remain unused. For a Western copy, do not apply Japan's bonus terms automatically. Verify the exact offer in the listing you are buying.

The practical order is simple: choose the region and platform, confirm language and media details, then compare bonuses and delivered cost. Only after those match does the lowest price become a meaningful comparison.
