There is a regular Nintendo Switch version

Another Eden Begins has a Nintendo Switch version separate from the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. If you own the original Switch hardware, the Nintendo Switch product listing is the starting point—not the Upgrade Pack or the full Switch 2 Edition listing.

The information here concerns the US Nintendo listing, checked on September 16, 2026. It describes the base Switch product rather than comparing PC and console performance.

Play modes, player count, and storage

ItemWhat Nintendo lists for the Switch product
PlayersOne player on a single system
Play modesTV, tabletop, and handheld
Estimated Switch file size4 GB
Listed text languagesJapanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and American English
Switch 2 compatibility for this Switch gameSupported, with behavior consistent with Switch

The 4 GB figure is an estimated file size, not a promise that every installation and update will always occupy exactly that amount. Check the current download screen and leave room for updates rather than planning around the last available megabyte.

The language list also should not be read as five fully voiced audio tracks. Text and audio support are separate questions. Likewise, the listed play modes do not turn a one-player game into local multiplayer.

Nintendo includes a general note that compatibility and play experience may differ on Switch Lite. If a specific controller or play arrangement is essential to you, check the listing and test that arrangement rather than assuming all Switch-family hardware has identical physical capabilities.

Playing the Switch version on Switch 2 is not the same as upgrading

The base Switch listing's compatibility message means the Switch product is supported on Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is separately described with 4K support and a frame rate of up to 60 FPS.

Do not apply those enhanced-edition claims to the regular Switch version. Compatibility answers whether a product can be used on the newer hardware; the edition answers which version and enhancements you are buying.

If you already own a Switch copy and want the upgraded edition, follow the official Upgrade Pack listing. It requires the base game. It is not a second standalone game and is not the character DLC pass.

Try the demo on the hardware you use

The official demo page provides the download route and explains progress transfer. On Nintendo hardware, its instructions say to launch the full version with no existing save data and confirm the transfer prompt; it also states that demo saves can be transferred to Switch 2 Edition.

Before committing to a longer play session, use the demo to answer practical questions:

  • Can you comfortably read the text at your normal handheld viewing distance?
  • Do the controls feel right in your intended TV or handheld setup?
  • Does the chosen language match what you want to use?
  • Are you using the account and save you intend to continue with?

These are personal checks, not claims that this site measured Switch performance. A video recorded on a different platform will not answer them as directly.

Confirm the format before buying

The Nintendo Store page linked here is a digital listing. If you want a physical copy, verify the boxed product's region, exact edition, languages, and included items separately. A digital product page is useful for understanding the Switch game, but it is not a specification for every cartridge or retail bundle sold under its name.
